Range Operations as a Geologist in our Casper, WY office.  (MUST HAVE
HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE)

 

Summary:
The position will support a team of geologists and geophysicists
specializing in shallow karst and mining related geohazard investigation.
Our team utilizes 3D-integrated site investigation approaches comprised of
state-of-the-art geophysics, subsurface drilling, geologic investigation,
and geospatial modelling. Typical field tasks involve geologic logging
during drilling, deploying downhole laser-scanners and video tools,
collecting high-precision GPS data, field health and safety documentation
and oversight, technical and physical support of geophysical surveys. Travel
for durations of ~5-15 days at a time to site locations throughout Wyoming.
GIS tasks required by the position include managing orthoimagery and terrain
models collected from drone flights, geo-referencing and digitizing historic
maps, providing GIS support for field operations, geodatabase management,
creating report figures, and integrating spatial data from geophysical
models and CAD drawings.

 

Skill Requirements/Qualifications:
Field Geology and GIS software skills are essential to the position in
addition to being detail-oriented, the ability to work independently, learn
quickly, problem-solve, and communicate effectively as part of a team.
-Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS and Microsoft Office software.
-Comfortably work 10+ hour days at remote field sites.
-Lifting, walking, and carrying field equipment over rough terrain.
-Field knowledge of Wyoming geology and geomorphology.
-Experience using AutoCAD and EVS/MVS or other 3-D visualization software is
a plus.

-MSHA/OSHA training is preferred but not required.


Degree Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in Geoscience or related field. MS degree preferred.
Temp-to-hire, full-time position, salary to be commensurate with experience.
This position requires selected candidate to pass a motor vehicle record
(MVR) background check and negative drug test.
