The Geosciences Department at Princeton University seeks applications for a non-tenure track lecturer to teach GEO 103, "Natural Disasters" during the Spring 2021 semester. This course generally enrolls non-science majors and covers geoscience topics such as earthquakes, volcanoes, and other natural disasters, the structure of Earth's interior, plate tectonics, Earth surface processes, and/or Earth's energy and material resources. The course includes a lecture and a complementary lab or precept that explores quantitative and/or hands-on inquiry. We are looking for a creative approach to introductory Earth science that does not overlap too heavily with other Princeton GEO courses.

To apply, please submit an application that includes a curriculum vitae, a one-page statement of teaching experience, a one-page course proposal, and contact information for three references via the Princeton University academic hiring site: https://www.princeton.edu/acad-positions/position/15042

Candidates for this position must have a PhD in Geosciences or a related discipline.

Due to the volume of applications, only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. No letters of recommendation are required at this time.

This position is subject to the University's background check policy.
