Job Summary
Want to expand your knowledge within the world of Physics? As a Professional Research Assistant, you will support research in the Fiber Sources and Applications group on the development of fiber frequency combs and their application to optical time transfer and atmospheric spectroscopy.
Who We Are
The Professional Research Experience Program (PREP) is a special partnership between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the University of Colorado Boulder. PREP provides research opportunities to CU undergraduate and graduate students, as well as researchers with a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in NIST labs to gain research experience alongside NIST scientists.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  *   Setup, debugging, and operation of frequency-comb-based measurement system in support of optical time transfer or atmospheric spectroscopy.
  *   Development and support of data acquisition system and related computer network system.
What You Should Know
Possible work at field sites to support experimental tests.

What We Require

  *   Undergraduate degree in Physics, Engineering, or related field.
  *   Previous experience conducting research in a laboratory that includes work with lasers and optics.
What You Will Need

  *   Highly proficient in Python or related programming language.
