[ES_JOBS_NET] Tenure-Track Faculty Position in High-Performance Computing with Meteorological Applications

The School of Computer Science in the Gallogly College of Engineering and the School of Meteorology in the College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences at the University of Oklahoma invite applications for a tenured/tenure-track faculty position in high-performance computing with an emphasis in meteorological applications, including but not limited to, numerical modeling of weather and climate focused on seasonal-to-sub-seasonal predictions, modeling and satellite-data mining, and remote sensing, retrieval, and optimization. This position is a joint position between the School of Computer Science and the School of Meteorology, located at the University's Norman Campus. We seek candidates whose research, teaching, and service have prepared them to be integral contributors to the advancement of our inclusive and diverse communities.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field, effectively teach computer science courses at all levels, and advise M.S. and Ph.D. students. We will consider appointments at all ranks as appropriate to the qualifications of the applicant. More senior positions require concomitant levels of experience beyond the doctorate.

The School of Computer Science has strong collaborative research relationships within the Gallogly College of Engineering and with research groups in the College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences, the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy, and the College of Arts and Sciences, including the National Science Foundation Artificial Intelligence Institute for Research on Trustworthy AI in Weather, Climate, and Coastal Oceanography. The School of Computer Science offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science, and in conjunction with the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering, M.S. degrees in Data Science and Analytics. As a joint position, the candidate will work closely with faculty in the College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences.
