The laboratory of Prof. Cassandra Gaston is looking for a *postdoctoral
researcher in Atmospheric Chemistry* to begin as soon as possible. The
postdoctoral researcher will join the group to study trace gas-particle
interactions that are critical for budgets of reactive halogens, nitrogen
oxides, particulate matter (PM), and air quality. The successful candidate
will participate in laboratory and field studies.
The successful candidate should have: (1) a PhD in atmospheric chemistry or
analytical chemistry, (2) sufficient training and experiences in
atmospheric sampling techniques, and (3) strong skills of data
interpretation and writing. Prior experience using mass spectrometry is
strongly preferred.
Specific duties include: performing studies using a flow tube reactor,
particle sizing instrumentation, and mass spectrometers; participating in
field and laboratory studies; analysis and interpretation of data; writing
up results for publication; presenting results at conferences; and
mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of extension beyond one
year depending on performance and availability of funds.
