Description & Responsibilities
The Associate, Climate & Energy - Transportation, supports the programmatic work of the Climate & Energy team, with a specific focus on transportation initiatives, particularly accelerating corporate electric vehicle (EV) deployment, namely through the Corporate EV Alliance. We seek an energetic, highly motivated, self-starter to play a critical administrative and programmatic support role engaging companies in setting and actualizing goals on fleet electrification and charging infrastructure. The Associate is a full-time role, based in Boston, and will report directly to the Senior Manager, Clean Vehicles, and is based in Boston, MA.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  *   Support EV and other clean transportation-focused engagements with large corporate fleet operators in the U.S. using project management and analysis skills for planning, scheduling, note taking, and research, amongst other tasks.
  *   Participate in the organization and facilitation of monthly Corporate EV Alliance meetings, working with the Senior Manager, Clean Vehicles, to schedule meetings, develop meeting agendas, secure expert speakers, and prepare meeting materials.
  *   Support and strengthen relationships with prospective Corporate EV Alliance members and assist with new member on-boarding.
  *   Draft and distribute Corporate EV Alliance communications.
  *   Conduct research and analysis on the current and projected EV market as well as corporate clean transportation performance, including benchmarking sector performance, writing briefs and memos, and creating presentations with associated speaking notes.
  *   Point person for managing all data collection (using Salesforce and other tools), analyzing that data, and assisting the creation of internal and external work products/reports.
  *   Support Transportation planning, goal setting, and impact tracking.
  *   Coordinate with other program teams (e.g., Investor Network, Policy, Marketing & Communications, Development) as needed to accomplish program objectives.
  *   Attend internal and external meetings, as assigned, in order to take notes, identify next steps, and ensure follow-through of activities to completion.
  *   Provide administrative, logistical and writing support.
  *   Assist in roll out and distribution activities for key transportation reports and special projects.
  *   Provide event and development activity support, including conducting research, drafting speaking points and/or presentations, and attending meetings, as needed.
  *   Assist with planning, coordination, and logistics for Ceres annual conference and other organization-wide events;
  *   Travel to meetings and events, as required.
  *   Provide support to the larger Climate and Energy team when needed.
Qualifications

  *   Two to three years of professional experience demonstrating interpersonal, logistical, and research skills and some project management abilities.
  *   Knowledge of, or experience with, climate change or sustainability issues
  *   Strong understanding of the role of the transportation sector in the climate change crisis, preferred.
  *   Experience in the automotive or trucking industry is a plus, as is knowledge of the role of businesses, the investment community, and/or NGOs in being a part of the climate solution.
  *   Demonstrated initiative and motivation, and ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  *   Sound judgment and high level of integrity and professionalism, with an ability to manage confidential information and maintain discretion, diplomacy, and courtesy in all contacts.
  *   Strong organizational and time management skills, with keen attention to detail.
  *   Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
  *   Excellent research and problem-solving capabilities.
  *   Ability to work proactively, both independently and collaboratively with a team.
  *   Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and presentation programs (particularly Google and Office suites).
  *   Familiarity with Salesforce, a plus.

  *   Willingness to travel as needed to accomplish duties noted above.
