The Climate, Water, and Society Lab at Auburn University
(http://wp.auburn.edu/thecwslab/) invites application for a  Ph.D. level
graduate research assistantship position in Earth Systems Sciences, to work
on a multidisciplinary project to study the impacts of climate change-driven
land conversion on coastal water resources (quality and quantity) in the
Gulf coast. This Ph.D. position focuses on high-resolution climate analysis
for the Gulf coast using the Community Earth System Modeling version 2 Large
Ensemble data (http://www.cesm.ucar.edu/projects/community-projects/LENS2/).
Specifically, the student will downscale the climate data for watershed and
coastal modeling applications. The student will also investigate the effects
of downscaling on hurricane projections and heavy precipitation events in
the Gulf coast. Prospective candidates should be highly motivated and have a
strong background in climate modeling, hydrology, and related field.
Experience in working with the CESM model is a plus. Knowledge and
experience in Unix/Linux environment is highly desirable. Interested
