Job Summary
ExxonMobil is looking for a CO2 storage postdoctoral scientist with
background in reservoir engineering or related engineering disciplines. We
are looking for a dynamic, creative, and resourceful researcher with
technical expertise in reservoir engineering and geoscience. You will work
to apply various CO2 storage research results to support critical business
decisions. The focus on value generation provides the opportunity to have
significant impact leveraging ExxonMobil's strong belief in creating
commercial advantage through the use of technology. The company places high
emphasis on fundamental scientific skills and the ability to combine
technical skills with business understanding to improve profitability.
Job Responsibilities
* Collaborate with geologists and engineers to develop simple to
complex reservoir models for storing CO2 in subsurface
* Build reservoir models from geological models and upscale
petrophysical properties
* Perform integrated geology, geophysics, and reservoir engineering
studies in support of ExxonMobil's CO2 storage projects
* Incorporate key physics to simulate CO2 storage mechanisms at small
to large time scales
* Conduct multi-discipline reservoir characterization and uncertainty
studies
* Publish papers in peer-reviewed conference or journals
Job Requirements
* Ph.D. in Engineering, Geoscience, Rock Mechanics, or other related
scientific disciplines
* At least 2 years' experience in using a reservoir simulator for
simulating injection of CO2 into subsurface
* Demonstrated capability to apply reservoir or geoscience concepts
for safe and secure CO2 storage
* Previous work experience in geological modeling is an advantage
* Ability to convey rigorous mathematical concepts and considerations
to non-technical audience
* Demonstrated communication skills and model development skills in a
collaborative team environment.
* Have a desire and an ability to grow into new science areas
