Below is the job announcement for a faculty position at The University of Georgia Department of Chemistry.

NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE (NMR) MANAGER POSITION
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Georgia seeks a manager for their
nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) facility. This is a full-time (12-month) non-tenure track
faculty position. The NMR Manager will be fully responsible for supervision and
maintenance of Bruker, Varian/Agilent, and potentially JEOL 400, 500, and 600 MHz NMR
instruments, and will share responsibilities for a Bruker EPR system. The manager will
also be responsible for training and assisting users, scheduling instrument use, assisting
faculty in teaching NMR courses, and other facility management related duties. Additional
expectations include participating in collaborative research efforts with faculty, pursuing
independent research efforts, and assisting in grant proposal and manuscript preparation.
In the summer of 2021, the facility will relocate to a new, state-of-the-art building currently
under construction. A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, or a related field is
required at time of appointment. One year of postdoctoral experience in NMR
spectroscopy is highly desirable, as is at least one year of experience with troubleshooting
hardware, routine maintenance of NMR instruments, and computer administration and
networking. A curriculum vitae and a cover letter should be submitted electronically
(http://www.ugajobsearch.com/postings/119194). The names and contact information for three
individuals who will serve as references are also required. Consideration of applications
will begin on October 15, 2019, and continue until the position is filled. The successful
applicant will find excellent opportunities for interactions and collaborations with other
spectroscopists, scientists and professionals that utilize the exceptional NMR facilities,
including very high field instruments, across the University of Georgia campus.
