The University of Georgia Department of Chemistry (chem.uga.edu<http://chem.uga.edu>) invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in organic chemistry, beginning August 1, 2020, at the level of Assistant Professor. UGA Chemistry has organic expertise both in core areas (e.g., synthesis and methods, physical organic, catalysis) and in cross- cutting fields related to our interdisciplinary centers and institutes (e.g., Complex Carbohydrate Research Center, New Materials Institute, Center for Computational and Quantum Chemistry). All areas of organic chemistry will be considered that build upon this range of expertise. Competitive applicants will have a strong research record, demonstrate creativity in their research plans, and exhibit a commitment to teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels. A Ph.D. in chemistry or related field is required at time of appointment; 1 to 2 years of postdoctoral experience is highly desirable. Candidates should submit a cover letter of interest with a brief summary of research accomplishments, curriculum vitae, and concise statements of research plans and teaching interests, and arrange for at least three letters of recommendation to be submitted.
