Job Summary/Basic Function: The Department of Geography and the Environment at the University of North Texas (UNT) seeks applications for a non-tenure track lecturer position with a specialization in Physical Geography/Geology to begin in August 2020. We are seeking a broadly-trained physical geographer who is able to teach introductory courses in physical geography and geology as well as courses in the Geography major and Geology minor, including upper division electives in their area of expertise.
Application Deadline: The search committee will begin its review of applications on 1 November 2019, and continue to accept and review applications until the position is closed.
Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. in physical geography or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment. Teaching experiences in physical geography and geology.
Preferred Qualifications: An ability to teach an introductory course in GIS and organize or lead field trips/field schools is desirable. We seek also candidates with a strong commitment to mentoring undergraduate students.
