Research Analyst, Climate Resilience, Sustainability and Energy Team

Overview

Local governments, regions, and states are exploring pathways to adapt to climate change and rapidly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The Cadmus Sustainability and Energy team directly supports public, private, philanthropic, and non-profit organizations seeking to achieve ambitious climate goals.



Cadmus seeks a research analyst to support our work on climate preparedness and resilience. Our team works directly with local governments, non-profits, federal agencies and international clients to assess climate risks and develop and implement resilience strategies. Through detailed analysis, careful planning, engineering, and robust stakeholder engagement, we equip our clients to implement leading-edge climate mitigation and adaptation strategies.

Research Analysts work closely with senior staff to perform policy research, qualitative and quantitative market research, evaluation, and other technical and policy assistance related to climate policies. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, motivated, and capable of creative problem-solving and independent work. The candidate should also have a working knowledge across topics such as local, state, and national climate resilience strategies, disaster preparedness and other sustainability topics.

Responsibilities

As a Research Analyst on the Sustainability and Energy Team, you would be responsible for:

  *   Working independently or with minimal supervision to support research efforts, ensuring consistency and quality of research methods;
  *   Conducting research, interviews, and analyses, focused on technical, policy, and/or financial implications of climate resilience policies;
  *   Clearly and concisely describing results (in Word or PowerPoint) for multiple audiences, ensuring accuracy of content and adherence to format and other pertinent details;
  *   Supporting technical assistance requests and providing customer services to local, state, federal and international government staff, policy-makers, international development agencies, corporate or non-profit clients;
  *   Conducting research and analysis across a range of renewable energy-related projects, programs, policies and regulations.

Qualifications

Requirements

  *   BS/BA in any discipline
  *   Understanding of-or the ability to quickly come up to speed on-concepts related to climate adaptation, disaster preparedness and/or sustainability planning.
  *   Excellent writing, communication, and critical thinking skills
  *   Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  *   The ability to manage deadlines across multiple simultaneous projects
  *   Willingness to work on international projects and travel
  *   Proficiency in MS Office applications



Preferred

  *   Internships or professional work experience, especially in climate adaptation or renewable energy.
  *   Strong proficiency in Excel, R, and/or GIS
