Assistant Professor - Department of Biology (Forest Macrosystem Ecology)

To strengthen an existing focus on ecological research, West Virginia
University invites applications for a

tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of
Biology

(http://biology.wvu.edu) to begin August 2020. We seek an individual who
uses a combination of

empirical and advanced analytical techniques, and who can leverage "Big
Data" (e.g., NEON, FIA, NADP,

ForestGEO, or AmeriFlux data) to link changes in tree species composition
with the resulting impacts on

forest ecosystem function. Requirements include a broad biology background
with a PhD or equivalent

degree in biology or a related field, a strong record of scholarly
publications, strong interdisciplinary

skills to develop an externally funded independent research program,
openness to collaborative

research, ability to contribute to the department's undergraduate and
graduate teaching and research

missions, and excellent written and oral communication skills.

for forest research and
