LASSO Technical Writer/Editor

 

Overview:  LASSO is seeking a technical writer/editor to provide part-time support to edit, review, and compile technical manuscripts, manuals, reports, marketing documents, and other related materials in accordance with established guidelines. The Laboratory Support Services and Operations (LASSO) contract operates and maintains a diverse set of laboratories, development shops, and test facilities at Kennedy Space Center (KSC). The Southeaster Universities Research Association (SURA) and its member universities partner with AECOM on the LASSO contract to involve academic researchers, subject matter experts, and students in KSC’s scientific research and engineering activities. 

 

Essential responsibilities:

-- Interface with technical professionals in the writing, editing, and publication of various types of documents.

-- Proofread text for consistency in usage, style, format, punctuation and grammatical construction.

-- Track and monitor flow of all documents from inception to distribution of final copies.

-- Revise and rewrite text, as necessary, to correct and clarify meaning.

-- Interface with originating writer, and other groups as needed to obtain various types of information/data required to accomplish assigned task.

 

This is a contract position providing up to 20 hours/week through September 30, 2020. The contractor will work remotely. An initial trip to KSC, with expenses covered by the LASSO, may be required. The contractor must have at least four years of job-related experience and at least a Bachelors' degree. The position is open to all qualified applicants who are U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents.
