CIRES Education & Outreach is hiring:

The Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES)<https://cires.colorado.edu/> Education and Outreach Program has an opening for a part-time or full-time position (50-100%). CIRES Education and Outreach provides engagement and education opportunities around science topics for students, teachers and the science-interested public. We seek to hire a candidate with a diverse skill set in outreach and education and experience in program management. The successful candidate will split time between two educational programs - a Research Experience for Undergraduate (REU) summer program and a new informal science learning program that focuses on education around water topics. Education and Outreach Program will work with a diverse team of educators and evaluators and oversee the successful implementation of these programs.

At CIRES, the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences, more than 800 environmental scientists work to understand the dynamic Earth system, including people's relationship with the planet. CIRES is a partnership of NOAA and the University of Colorado Boulder, and our areas of expertise include weather and climate, changes at the Earth's poles, air quality and atmospheric chemistry, water resources, and solid Earth sciences. Our vision is to be instrumental in ensuring a sustainable future environment by advancing scientific and societal understanding of the Earth system.

Key Responsibilities:

  *   Independently lead all aspects of the Research Experience for Community College Student program (RECCS).
  *   Program management for a new informal science project in which a traveling exhibit focused on water topics is being developed and will be deployed to libraries in the Four Corners Region. The project includes the development of a new water-focused exhibit within a team and engagement activities for communities. The program manager will be working closely with tribal and rural community partners and also develop new partnerships.
