Geosciences - Temporary Faculty Pool

Position Description

Mansfield University's Department of Geosciences seeks applicants for temporary, part-time instructor positions as they arise through June 1, 2022. Available courses may arise in the AAS Environmental Technology, BS Geoscience or BS Safety Management program.

The Department of Geosciences at Mansfield University is a dynamic program with a variety of programs that cover a broad range. Degree programs include an AAS in Environmental Technology with Environmental Technician or Safety Management Concentrations. The BS Geosciences has concentrations in Environmental Science, Geology, Watershed Management, Outdoor Recreation Leadership and Geoarchaeology. The department includes a BS Safety Management and minors in Watershed Management, Outdoor Recreation Leadership and Geology. Please visit the Mansfield Catalog to view the courses with GEOS, GEG, GEL, SFM, ORL, or WSM prefix.
Examples of Duties

Effective and enthusiastic teaching for a large, diverse audience; timely and fair grading of assignments, quizzes, and exams; ability to communicate and write effectively; effective use of computer technology; willingness to work cooperatively within the department; and effective communication (verbal and written) and use of electronic teaching technology. Work cooperatively with staff, faculty and administration.
Qualifying Experience/Education

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

MS in Geoscience, Geography, Geology, Safety Management, or related field from a regionally accredited (or foreign equivalent) university.

Preferred Qualifications:
*         Ph.D. in Geoscience, Geography, Geology, Safety Management, or related field from a regionally accredited (or foreign equivalent) university
*         Academic specialization relevant to course(s) vacancy
*         Prior teaching experience relevant to course(s) vacancy
*         Prior industry experience relevant to course(s) vacancy
*         Demonstrated experience utilizing technology that supports teaching and learning
*         Demonstration, through past accomplishments and behaviors, of the ability to support Mansfield University's principles and values of Character, Scholarship, Culture, Service (http://www.mansfield.edu/mansfield-creed) and the University's strong student-centered vision and mission.
