Two year post doc position in Precambrian Sedimentary Geology at the University of Melbourne
We have a new opportunity for a two year post doc position at the School of Earth Sciences, University of Melbourne in Precambrian sedimentary geology. The position is based around a field project in the Flinders Ranges, South Australia, in particular looking at Neoproterozoic sediments. Please see the links and information below. The position closes at the end of May (possibly this will be extended) and we are looking for someone to start at the latest by the end of the year.

About the role
A highly motivated early career researcher is sought to join the School of Earth Sciences in the Basin Studies research area, Sedimentology Group, reporting to Dr. Ashleigh Hood. The position will contribute to the group’s paleo-environmental research on Precambrian sediments of Australia, including Neoproterozoic glacial sediments. You are expected to undertake individual research and contribute to the Sedimentology Group’s research in Precambrian sedimentary geology.

About you
* Completion (or near completion) of a PhD in Geology or a related discipline
* You will complete fieldwork in Australia on Precambrian geology, therefore, experience with field geology, sedimentology and stratigraphy is essential.
* Experience with petrography and sedimentary geochemistry would be advantageous
* A demonstrated aptitude for research, with a sound publication record in relevant areas, commensurate with experience and opportunities.
