[ES_JOBS_NET] Postdoc position: Palaeoclimate data analysis (Heidelberg)

The Institute of Environmental Physics at Heidelberg University - under
the condition of the grant by the funding party - is offering a

*Post-Doctoral position in the field of palaeoclimate data analysis*

Positions are for a fixed term of 3 years. The earliest starting date is
October 1st, 2019. Salary corresponds to 100% TV-L E13.

Your task will be to develop methods and software for model-data
comparison, which will be applied to evaluate and compare climate model
output and to quantify the contribution of volcanic eruptions to Glacial
climate variability.

*Requirements*:

  *

    PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Geosciences,
    Meteorology, Oceanography or a related field

  *

    A strong interest in climate dynamics and palaeoclimate data

  *

    Ability to work in a dynamic small research team including students,
    and to collaborate in an international interdisciplinary environment

  *

    Experience in the analysis of large datasets and scientific
    computation on high-performance computers

  *

    Familiarity with statistics and analyzing climate model output would
    be of advantage
