The Air Quality Program (AQP) is looking to fill an Emissions Inventory Specialist (Environmental Specialist 3) position. The position will be located in our Headquarters Building in Lacey, WA.

The Emissions Inventory Specialist position serves as an Air Quality Program specialist for all aspects, including legal and historical perspectives, of the statewide air emissions inventory program. Accurate emissions inventories form the basis of much of the work of the Air Quality Program; they tell us where air pollution is coming from and help direct our efforts to clean it up. The position develops emissions inventories in support of federal annual and triennial reports, State Implementation Plans (SIP) and Maintenance Plans, and for regional and statewide air quality modeling needs. Responsibilities include researching scientific literature to identify and implement latest developments in emissions inventory methodology associated with, among other things, ozone formation and fine particulate, for use by Ecology, Local Air Agencies and EPA for such things as complex regional air quality models which are crucial to successful air quality management.
We are looking for applicants who possess experience developing air quality emissions inventories. Self-motivated to help customers navigate our air emissions reporting database tool; flexibility in approach to projects and problems; take initiative to research, understand, and apply knowledge to estimate emissions. Works well as an individual and as a member of a team. Detail oriented person that values the need to complete all data processing and documentation steps accurately and completely.

Sincerely,
