Hello,

A fully-funded PhD position in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Wayne State University is available to start in Fall 2020. The potential candidate has the opportunity to work on multiple projects to quantify the impacts of anthropogenic emissions (e.g., aerosols and ozone precursors from energy sectors) on air quality, climate change and human health, using state-of-the-art 3-dimensional chemical transport model (e.g., GEOS-Chem) and chemistry-climate model (e.g., NCAR CESM2 CAM6-Chem) in conjunction with in-situ, aircraft campaign and satellite observations. Applicants with background in environmental engineering/science, atmospheric science, chemistry, geology, computer science, mathematics, or other related fields are welcome to apply. Previous modeling experiences using chemical transport models are preferred but not required. The PhD candidate will work directly with Dr. Yaoxian Huang (https://www.huanglabwayne.com). For interested applicants, please send your CV, a research statement and contact methods of three references to Dr. Huang (yaoxian.huang at wayne.edu).
