*Postdoctoral Fellow in Climate and History at San Francisco State
University*



We are recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow in the climate group at San
Francisco State University (SFSU). The position is in Prof. Alexander (Zan)
Stine’s group and focuses on the interaction of climate and history in the
context of ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia. The Postdoctoral Fellow will
participate in the NSF-Funded Yale Nile Initiative (
https://nileclimateproject.netlify.com/). San Francisco State’s role in
this collaboration focuses on building and applying statistical models of
climate and human interactions.



*Requirements*: Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a relevant field by the
time of the appointment, as well as highly effective oral and written
communication skills. A strong statistical background is highly desirable,
as is a strong background in understanding the physical climate system.



*Terms of appointment:*

This is a 2-year position with an expected start date of August/September
2020. Title and salary will be commensurate with experience, within the
flexibility of the funding sources. SFSU offers excellent benefits.
