METEOROLOGIST FO R EC ASTER Level I /II

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Issue detailed and accurate weather forecasts to customers in
agriculture, recreation as well as fire weather forecasts for electric
utilities
• Understand and convey critical weather information to customers that are
affected by weather
• Work a varied shift schedule with weekends and some holidays possible (we
are open 7 days a week, shifts start at 3:30am)
• Assemble, program, test, install, and troubleshoot weather monitoring
equipment
• Travel to locations throughout California for installation and
maintenance of weather monitoring systems (company vehicle provided)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• At minimum B. S. Degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science from
accredited university
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and produce accurate work under deadline pressures
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Proven ability to work as part of a team and as an individual with
minimal supervision
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

PREFERABLE QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with Campbell Scientific equipment and datalogger programming
strongly desired
• Experience with fire weather forecasting strongly desired
