Postdoc opportunity on convection at LLNL

We have an opening for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work in the area of
cumulus parameterizations, involving testing and evaluating improved cumulus
parameterizations in both hindcasts and climate simulations with the new DOE
Energy Exascale Earth system model (E3SM) against both satellite and field
data. You will focus on improving the representation of momentum transport
processes, cloud microphysics, and stochastics in the deep convection scheme
used for the next generation of E3SM, as well as improving its
scale-awareness working with scientists at Scripps and National Center for
Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and collaborating with E3SM modelers. This
position is in the Cloud Processes Research and Modeling group in the
Atmospheric, Earth and Energy Division.
