The Department of Earth and atmospheric sciences (Département des sciences de la Terre et de l'atmosphère, www.scta.uqam.ca<http://www.scta.uqam.ca>) of the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM, www.uqam.ca<http://www.uqam.ca>) invites applications for a position of professor in radiogenic isotope geochemistry.

Candidates having a PhD and with experience in research and teaching who are willing to develop an ambitious research program in radiogenic isotope geochemistry are encouraged to apply. Applications to fields such as igneous petrology, economic geology and U-Pb geochronology will be prioritized, but they are not exclusive.

The successful candidate will hold a teaching appointment in the Département des sciences de la Terre et de l'atmosphère of UQAM and will be encouraged to develop a research program in collaboration with the GEOTOP Research Center for the dynamics of the Earth system (www.geotop.ca<http://www.geotop.ca>). GEOTOP is an inter-university, multi-disciplinary research cluster with first class isotope laboratories in isotopic geochemistry (Thermo TritonPlus (TIMS), NuPlasma II EC (MC-ICP-MS), NuAttom ES (HR-ICP-MS), Photon-Machines G2 (193 nm laser)).

Selection will be based on the applicant's potential for teaching and for developing a successful research program, as demonstrated by his/her publication and/or funding records.

A working knowledge of the French language is required. Applications from women, Aboriginals, visible and ethnic minorities and persons with disabilities are encouraged. Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority for hiring.
