A postdoctoral or more senior research position in Urban
Microclimatology is available in the Department of Civil and
Environmental Engineering at Princeton University. The prospective
researcher will develop improved representations of physical urban
processes in coupled land-atmosphere models, and will perform
multi-scale atmospheric modeling to investigate the interaction of
water, energy and climate in built terrain. The work will primarily use
the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model for mesoscale and
large-eddy simulations, focusing on extreme events (heat waves and
storms) and how they can be mitigated and/or adapted to via better urban
design. The research will be supervised by Professor Elie Bou-Zeid
(http://efm.princeton.edu/).
