Graduate Research Assistantship in Environmental Toxicology

Agency: Center for Fisheries, Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences, Department of Zoology at Southern Illinois University

Location: Carbondale, IL

Job Description: Seeking a motivated doctoral student to join an active environmental toxicology group. Research topics include assessing the bioavailability of pyrethroid insecticides in sediments using desorption-based extraction, conducting toxicity bioassays and developing a bioavailability-based toxicity model, and surveying pyrethroid resistance in field-collected invertebrates.

Qualifications: Master's degree (or BS with experience) in Zoology, Entomology, Chemistry, Toxicology or related field. Desired qualifications include experience with toxicological bioassays and/or analytical instrumentation (GC-MS). Good writing skills required.

Salary: Research assistantships will include a competitive salary, full tuition waiver, health benefits and support for the proposed research.
