*Post-Doctoral Positions in the Department of Land, Air, and Water
Resources, University of California, Davis*

We seek applicants for two postdoctoral scholar positions in the areas
of regional coupled modeling and data assimilation. The successful
applicants will participate in a project to study the impact of dust on
storm development over North Africa and East Atlantic and another
project to study the impact of remote sensing data on Atmospheric River
forecasts using the WRF or COAWST
(Coupled-Ocean-Atmosphere-Wave-Sediment Transport) modeling framework.
Areas of emphasis include but are not limited to (1) coupled model
development, (2) dust-radiative-microphysical interactions on storm
environment and development, (3) ocean and atmosphere interaction, (4)
case studies of convective systems, and (5) remote sensing data
assimilation including GPS radio occultation observations. Applicants

assimilation, and FORTRAN programing are preferred. The positions are
available immediately. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a field of
Atmospheric Sciences, Oceanic Sciences or relevant field, effective oral
and written communication skills, and strong programming and analytical
