A Chairperson for the Biological, Environmental, and Climate Sciences Department (www.bnl.gov/EBNN/BECS<http://www.bnl.gov/EBNN/BECS>) at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) is sought to provide intellectual and managerial leadership for the department that consists of a diverse group of scientists, engineers, and professionals with an annual operating budget of approximately $35M. The successful candidate will be committed to enabling cross-disciplinary teams to address scientific challenges appropriate to a National Laboratory.  He or she will be expected to lead internationally competitive programs in biology, climate, and environmental sciences, recruit and develop staff members, build strategic partnerships that enhance the department R&D efforts, and develop a scientific vision and strategic business plan for the department that leverages the unique multi-disciplinary capabilities and facilities at BNL.
