 Post-Doctoral Associate (classification #9546)

*Required Qualifications: *

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in hydrology, environmental science,
natural resources, or a closely related field. Desired experience includes
hydrological field measurements, samplings and laboratory analysis for
water quality, hydrologic data analysis, and writing peer-reviewed papers.

*Duties/Responsibilities: *

The University of Minnesota, Department of Forest Resources is seeking a
postdoctoral scientist to contribute to forest hydrology research assessing
the impacts of land use change on water quantity and quality in the Upper
Great Lakes region. This position will entail the instrumentation of stream
monitoring stations as well as analysis of existing data in order to
address questions of water quantity and quality changes in response to land
use and vegetation change. Water quality aspects of the study will include
sediment fingerprinting and related statistical analysis. Research will be
supervised by Dr. Diana Karwan in the Department of Forest Resources at the
University of Minnesota.

*Appointment: *

This is a 100% time appointment. Initial appointment is for one year,
beginning in August 2015 or shortly after. Renewal for second year is
possible upon successful progress.
