A postdoctoral research position is available in the Department of
Chemistry at the University of Toronto working in the research group of
Jennifer Murphy.
Our research interests include the surface-atmosphere exchange of trace
gases and particles, with an emphasis on reactive nitrogen compounds.
The project will focus on method development of flux techniques for
ammonia and nitrogen oxides. There will be opportunities for field
measurements in agricultural, forest and marine environments.
The successful candidate is expected to have a PhD in chemistry,
chemical engineering, atmospheric science or a related area. The
successful candidate should have prior experience with instrument
development and/or spectroscopy and data analysis programs (e.g. Igor or
Matlab). Familiarity with micrometeorological theory is preferred, but
not required.
Initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of
renewal for up to three years, pending demonstrated progress and
availability of funding. Starting dates between June and Dec 2014 are
possible.
