Subject: Announcement for SESYNC-LTER Synthesis Postdoctoral Fellowships
Dear All,
The NSF LTER program has partnered with the National Socio-Environmental
Synthesis Center to support synthesis postdoctoral fellowships. This
exciting opportunity has just been announced (see
http://sesync.org/opportunities/sesync-lter-synthesis-postdoctoral-fellowships).
The goal of this opportunity is to engage early-career researchers in the
synthesis of long-term data sets, on-going experiments, and model results,
recognizing synthesis as an important goal of LTER research. Syntheses must
involve LTER data, but applicants are encouraged to include additional
long-term data collected outside of the LTER network.
Both SESYNC and NSF hope to attract applicants from within LTER as well as
from the broader ecological community. We hope you will help to spread the
word to recent PhDs who are particularly interested in data synthesis. Each
applicant will also identify a Research Mentor and Collaborator – again, we
hope to draw collaborators and mentors from a broad range of backgrounds
and communities. Please consider acting as a collaborator and mentor
yourselves.
Cindy Wei at SESYNC is the contact for questions about the application
process and the program. If you have questions, you are also always welcome
to contact the NSF management team.
We look forward to an exciting group of applicants and to the syntheses
that will result,
Best wishes,
Saran
