Copy: Advertising Copy continued: Job Summary/Basic Function:Provide
specialized technical expertise in support of ongoing research projects for
research laboratory in the Gund Institute for Ecological Economics.
Coordinate research activities and conduct novel research using advanced
spatial analysis techniques, simulation modeling, and complex computation.
Perform analyses of environmental and socioeconomic correlation to
land-cover and land-use change using existing geospatial models to
understand environmental correlation. Validate land-cover and land-use
change products using field data. Develop and assess quality assurance
protocols in support of the research methodology. Conduct field validation
data collection as part of our research team, including a trip to Malawi.
Prepare data for integration with socioeconomic data analysis. Prepare and
assist in the development and preparation of journal manuscripts. Minimum
Qualifications:
(or equivalent combination of education and experience)Bachelor's degree in
earth sciences, environmental studies or related field and three years of
experience to include experience with remote sensing. Experience with ENVI,
ArcMap, IDL or R softwares/languages required. Remote sensing technical
skills, analytical and data processing skills required. Ability to
travel. Desirable
