Dear CEDAR Community,
We invite abstract submissions to our AGU26 session:
SA026: Whole-Atmosphere Coupling and Multi-Scale Drivers of Magnetosphere-Ionosphere-Thermosphere and Space Weather Variability
The Magnetosphere-Ionosphere-Thermosphere system responds to both terrestrial weather from below and space weather from above through coupled, multiscale processes. This session welcomes observational, theoretical, modeling, data-assimilation, and data-driven studies addressing topics including:

  *   Atmospheric tides, planetary waves, gravity waves, and in situ generated global-scale waves
  *   Multistep vertical coupling and cross-scale interactions
  *   Polar vortex variability, volcanic eruptions, convection, rocket launches, and other episodic forcing
  *   Storm-time and quiet-time M-I-T variability
  *   Thermospheric composition, winds, temperature, density, and energy deposition
  *   TEC variability, TIDs/MSTIDs, plasma bubbles, irregularities, and magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling
  *   Satellite and ground-based observations, whole-atmosphere models, digital twins, machine learning, and novel diagnostics

Our goal is to bring together the CEDAR, SPA-Aeronomy, SPA-Magnetospheric Physics, and broader geospace communities to advance a unified understanding of M-I-T variability and improve predictability of space-weather impacts.
