GEM Encourage and Elevate (GEMEE) Mentoring Program 2025- Call for Mentors
The GEM Sam Bingham Community Cares Initiative (SBCCI) Committee is searching for representatives within our community who want to develop effective communication skills, connect with early-career scientists, advance their leadership skills, and gain a broader understanding of their field by electing to serve as a mentor in the GEMEE (GEM Encourage & Elevate) mentoring program for the upcoming Joint GEM-CEDAR meeting.
This program is serving GEM Community from last five year. This year we also invite mentors from CEDAR communities to help us mentoring CEDAR/ GEM students because this program allows Mentees to decide whether they seek guidance about research area or careers or both!
This is a unique opportunity to: 1) Strengthen your communication and leadership skills 2) Support the growth of early-career scientists 3) Broaden your perspective of the geospace science community 4) Build lasting professional connections
Mentor Expectations:
Hold at least two one-on-one meetings with your mentee (~1 hour each): One prior to the GEM meeting and One during or within one month after the meeting
Optional: Participate in a group luncheon session to discuss career development topics with other mentors and mentees
If you are interested in participating, please register by May 15, 2025, using the following form:
