Hi all,

The Earth Prediction Innovation Center (EPIC) and the Unified Forecast
System (UFS) in partnership with Jackson State University (JSU) are proud
to present the Unifying Innovations in Forecasting Capabilities Workshop
<https://epic.noaa.gov/eventsposts/uifcw-2024/> (UIFCW24) from Monday, July
22, 2024, to Friday, July 26, 2024, in Jackson, MS at Jackson State
University.

This five-day workshop offers an excellent opportunity for experts in the
field to share their research and learn about the latest updates to the
UFS. The event provides a platform for discussing the challenges and
successes of UFS contributions and the future direction of the Weather
Enterprise. The workshop's objective is to build on the existing
collaboration between the public, private, and academic sectors within the
Weather Enterprise. By highlighting the importance of community building
and the shared goal of advancing the UFS, the workshop serves as a key
event for fostering enhanced communication and collaboration. It offers a
unique venue where participants can explore how these sectors are able to
unite effectively, thereby boosting forecasting capabilities, spurring
innovation, and achieving success more efficiently The theme for this
year’s workshop is Collaborative Progress in Earth System Modeling.

This year, the "*Emerging Applications – Space Weather*" session is
scheduled for Thursday, July 25th.

Description: With an eye toward the future, this session will feature
presentations about cutting-edge research towards the development, testing,
and evaluation of upcoming UFS applications, including but not limited to,
coastal, marine, space weather, and air quality.

Objectives Achieved: Share knowledge, provide science updates, and identify
gaps and/or challenges.
