Title: Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Theoretical and Computational Plasma Physics at Dartmouth College
The Department of Physics and Astronomy<https://physics.dartmouth.edu/> at Dartmouth College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2024. Area of specialization: theoretical and computational plasma physics, including space plasma physics, fusion plasma physics, and/or plasma astrophysics. Expectations for this position include a vigorous research program involving undergraduate and graduate students, and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching. The Department of Physics and Astronomy has more than 20 faculty members and approximately 50 Ph.D. students, with research interests in astronomy, cosmology, space and plasma physics, and quantum and condensed matter physics.
Dartmouth College provides opportunities for collaboration with colleagues in a wide range of academic departments, including Earth Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Mathematics, as well as the Thayer School of Engineering. New faculty members are eligible for grants for research-related expenses, a quarter of sabbatical leave for each three academic years in residence, and flexible scheduling of teaching responsibilities.

Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in physics, astrophysics, or a closely related field is required, along with at least one year of postdoctoral experience and a strong record of published research. Effective classroom teaching at the college level is essential for this position.
