Three Postdoctoral Positions in Space Sciences at University of Texas at Dallas

The Physics Department in the School of Natural Science and Mathematics at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) is seeking to fill three postdoctoral researcher positions affiliated with UTD’s W. B. Hanson Center for Space Sciences. The candidate needs to hold a Ph.D. in space physics or a closely related field.

The successful candidate will have the flexibility to conduct research on a wide variety of topics related to plasma wave generation, wave-particle interactions in Earth’s or Jovian magnetosphere, and/or the resultant ionospheric feedback. The incumbent shall analyze particle and wave measurements (such as from THEMIS, MMS, Van Allen Probes, or Juno) to understand the underlying plasma physics, thus demonstrated experience with spacecraft data analysis and space plasma theory are desired. Work is to be carried out in collaboration with Dr. Xiao-Jia Zhang (duties listed in the job post are just to exemplify one potential topic, please refer to https://profiles.utdallas.edu/index.php/xjzhang for additional information on the scope of research in Dr. Zhang’s group).
