Workshop on Geomagnetically Induced Currents (GIC), College Park, MD, 24
-27 October 2023.



We are delighted to announce an inaugural workshop on Geomagnetically
Induced Currents (GIC) to bring together participants from research,
industry and government domains to develop a supported and sustained
community. The primary goal of this workshop is to develop a community
engaged in integration of research with their applications to the needs of
industry and government agencies in managing potential consequences from
impact to critical infrastructure. A key objective of the workshop is to
build on the outcomes of the earlier initiatives, a strong community
supported by funding agencies to support sustained research and
collaboration across all GIC arenas.

The workshop will build on the outcomes of the GIC Innovation Lab (Golden
CO, November 2022) and more details will be forthcoming. We look forward to
ideas and suggestions for a stimulating and fruitful workshop.
