Dear Colleagues,

We would like to draw your attention to the session C1.5 "Space Weather and
Earth's Atmosphere-Ionosphere" during the upcoming COSPAR Scientific
Assembly, which takes place July 16-24 in Athens, Greece (
https://www.cosparathens2022.org/). We encourage you to submit an abstract
to this session by the abstract deadline of February 11, 2022.

Session description:
The space weather of the Earth's middle and upper atmospheres is
characterized by variability across a range of spatial and temporal scales.
The variability encompasses spatial scales from meters to global scale
variations, and minute to decadal time scales. Such a range of scales makes
predicting the variability of the middle and upper atmosphere challenging.
This session solicits presentations focused on the application of numerical
models and observations to characterize and understand middle and upper
atmosphere variability, with the ultimate goal of improving the
predictability of this region. Topics of particular interest include the
response of the ionosphere-thermosphere to forcing from above and below,
the effect of atmospheric waves and composition changes on the middle-upper
atmosphere, improved specifications of solar and magnetospheric forcing of
the middle-upper atmosphere, and the chemical and dynamical response of the
middle atmosphere to solar and magnetospheric forcing.

Sincerely,
Session Conveners: Nick Pedatella, Loren Chang, and Duggirala Pallamraju
