The Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) has a Program Officer
vacancy for the *Plasma and Electro-Energetic Physics portfolio*. Please

AFOSR manages the United States Air Force’s investment in basic research.
The Plasma and Electro-Energetics program seeks to provide revolutionary
advances in the fundamental understanding of underlying physical processes
necessary to control the interaction of electromagnetic energy and charged

Position Duties: Serves as the Program Officer for the fundamental science
research portfolio in the area of Plasma and Electro-energetics Physics.
Evaluates scientific opportunities and proposes resource distribution.
Evaluates and selects proposals for support and controls expenditures.
Advocates programs through oral briefings and written reports within the
Air Force and to external review panels. Assesses the state-of-the-art and
future Air Force needs and actively coordinates the research portfolio with
Air Force activities, other DoD services and agencies, and other national
and international research organizations. Serves as a Senior Technical
Advisor. Promotes a culture where intellectual Property (IP) is developed,
documented, protected and encouraged. Inherent in the technical publication
review process is a thorough screening for potential IP.
Scientific/engineering knowledge will be utilized to effectively assist in
IP transfer, transition or commercialization. May serve on external
committees and panels to support the larger scientific community.
