Dear CEDAR Community

The CEDAR Science Steering Committee (CSSC) is pleased to announce that
Prof. Robert (Bob) Schunk has been selected as the 2020 CEDAR Distinguished
Lecturer and Dr. Martin (Marty) Mlynczak has been selected to give the 2020
CEDAR Prize Lecture. Because the 2020 CEDAR meeting will be virtual, both
Bob and Marty plan to give their in-person presentations at the 2021 CEDAR
Meeting.

Marty has also agreed to provide a short video highlight of his recent
work. You can look for it soon in the highlight-listing at the main
meeting page:
http://cedarweb.vsp.ucar.edu/wiki/index.php/2020_Workshop:presentations

We encourage everyone to contribute video highlights of your CEDAR related
work (10-15 min presentations) to the virtual meeting. Doing so will be
our community’s way of showing that a virus won’t stop our science. Even
if you can’t contribute a video please do plan on viewing the videos from
others in the CEDAR community and engaging by email or in the virtual
workshops. Hopefully, in a few years, we can look back and find that we
were at the leading edge in making an accessible meeting.

Please make every effort to provide your science highlight information

I’m looking forward to ‘seeing’ you at the virtual meeting. When you have
a moment please congratulate Bob and Marty.
