Dear CEDAR colleagues,

We invite you to participate in the GEM sessions titled “3D ionospheric electrodynamics and its impact on magnetosphere – ionosphere – thermosphere coupled system (IEMIT)”. The detailed session description can be found at the following website:
http://aten.igpp.ucla.edu/gemwiki/index.php/FG:_3D_Ionospheric_Electrodynamics_and_Its_Impact_on_the_Magnetosphere-Ionosphere-Thermosphere_Coupled_System.

Four IEMIT sessions are scheduled from Monday to Wednesday. The first two sessions are stand-alone sessions on Monday (10:30-12:30pm and 1:30-3:00pm) and will discuss ionospheric electrodynamics and their impact on the MIT system. The third session is a joint session with MMV on Tuesday (3:30-5:00pm) and will discuss ionospheric conductance challenge for the following storms: 2013 Mar 17, 2016 Oct 13-15, 2015 Jul 21-24, and 2012 March 9. Other conductance studies are also welcome. The last session is a joint session with UMEA on Wednesday (3:30-5:00pm) and will discuss the ULF wave impact on the MIT coupling.

Here is the confirmed speaker list:
1.	Olga Verkhoglyadova: Summary of CEDAR MIT coupling efforts
2.	Jiang Liu: SWARM & DMSP observations of the eastward plasma flows in the dawnside ionosphere and their comparison with THEMIS ASI observations.
3.	Doga Ozturk: MIT coupling (TBD)
4.	Toshi Nishimura: Ionospheric conductance observations of the 17 March 2013 event
5.	Boyi Wang: ULF wave impacts on the ionosphere
6.	Xiaojia Zhang: modulation of VLF waves by ULF waves and its consequences on the aurora precipitation.
7.	Qianli Ma: diffusion coefficients due to chorus waves and electron precipitation features
8.	Gang Lu: AMIE results on 17 Mar 2013
9.	Hyunju Connor: Chorus wave impact on the diffuse aurora precipitation

If you are interested in giving a talk, please send your title and preference of sessions to Hyunju Connor (hkconnor at alaska.edu). We are looking forward to your participation.

Best regards,
Hyunju Connor, Bin Zhang, Gang Lu, Haje Korth.
