Researcher in space physics at the Birkeland Centre for Space Science 
(BCSS)

There is a vacancy for a Researcher position at the Department of 
Physics and Technology of the University of Bergen in Norway.

The Researcher will be part of a group in BCSS that explores how 
energetic particle precipitation can affect the chemistry and dynamics 
of the upper atmosphere in the polar region. The main focus of the 
position is to combine measurements of low (< 30 keV) and high (> 30 
keV) energy electron precipitation into a full range energy spectrum to 
be applied in the Whole Atmosphere Community Climate Model (WACCM).

The successful candidate must hold a PhD-degree in space physics (or a 
related field), or must have submitted his/her PhD thesis for assessment 
prior to the application deadline. He/she should have solid knowledge as 
well as experience working with the physics related to particle 
precipitation into the atmosphere and the associated effects.
