Good Afternoon,
Please see the below information from our friends in Basic Research. Let me
know if you have any questions and I will point you in the right direction.
****
Folks,
This was briefly discussed at the last DBRAG meeting and it was requested to
be forwarded to the DBRAG mailing list.
1. The FY17 I-Corps @ DoD program announcement has been posted to
grants.gov:
https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/search-grants.html?keywords=W911NF-17-S-00
11] announcement (opportunity# W911NF-17-S-0011)
2. This is a pilot program modeled on the successful NSF Innovation Corps
program, designed to be a bootcamp for training entrepreneurs in the
research community to transition DoD basic research. Eligible institutions
are US universities and industrial entities which have been in receipt of a
DoD basic research award. Teams generally consist of a technical lead
(usually a university PI), an entrepreneurial lead, and a mentor. The team
goes through a year of intensive instruction and interviews with potential
customers, with the goal of a go or no go decision on a specific potential
product and a commercialization plan. Details are contained in the program
announcement and in the NSF web site. The program is open; selected awards
will be made continuously until funds are expended, and the program closes
15 Sep.
3. I would appreciate help in disseminating the opportunity to any principal
investigators with previous or current 6.1 funded grants or agreements who
you feel would be good candidates for transitioning basic research.
Thanks,
Jim Harvey
ARO, assisting OSD with I-Corps @ DoD program
