JOB OPENING: Faculty Search in the Physics Department at UC Berkeley

The Physics Department of the University of California, Berkeley invites 
applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level 
in the area of Experimental Astrophysics, with an expected start date 
of July 1, 2015. The Physics Department encourages collaborations in 
Experimental Astrophysics with other units at Berkeley, including the Space 
Sciences Laboratory, the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, the Radio 
Astronomy Laboratory, and the Center for Integrative Planetary Science. 

A PhD, or equivalent, in Physics or a related discipline is required by the 
start date of the appointment. The minimum qualification required to be 
considered an applicant for this position is the completion of all PhD or 
equivalent degree requirements except the dissertation. Preference will be 
given to scholars who have demonstrated excellence in research. The 
department is interested in candidates who will contribute to the diversity 
and equal opportunity in higher education through their teaching, research, 
and service. The successful candidate will be expected to teach 
undergraduate and graduate courses and have a strong commitment to teaching, 
mentoring, and service.
