Dear Colleagues,
The Space Weather Sub-group of the International Radio Occultation Working Group (IROWG) is convening an Ionosphere-Atmosphere Coordination Workshop to discuss aspects of radio-occultation analysis involving the ionosphere. The workshop includes ionospheric space weather experts and scientists concerned with removing ionospheric effects from radio occultation for neutral atmospheric parameters. The World Meteorological Organization has recommended addressing ionosphere and neutral atmosphere issues in a synergetic way in order to help optimize the radio-occultation constellation.
Workshop goals are to:
* Increase synergy between ionosphere and neutral atmosphere use of GNSS.
* Increase scientific interaction between the two communities.
* Further the goal of dual-use of GNSS sensors: atmosphere and ionosphere.
* Make progress on issues related to data formats and future missions.
The workshop announcement is at http://www.wmo.int/pages/prog/sat/meetings/Ionosphere-Atmosphere-coord-workshop-ann-2014-June-06.pdf . A website with this message is here: http://www.cosmic.ucar.edu/workshop_2014/space_weather.html .
The workshop is to be held on Friday, October 3. Earlier that week is the Eighth FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC Data Users' Workshop in Boulder, Colorado (http://www.cosmic.ucar.edu/workshop_2014/). We welcome your participation at the Ionosphere-Atmosphere Coordination Workshop. Please express your interest in attending by sending an email to Ingrid Moore at imoore at ucar.edu<mailto:imoore at ucar.edu>.
Sincerely, The Organizing Committee
