The Augsburg College Physics Department invites applications for a tenure-track
faculty
position to begin September 1, 2014. We seek individuals with a commitment to
teaching,
research, and mentoring undergraduates of diverse backgrounds.

To prepare students for life after college, the Augsburg Physics Department
meaningfully
involves undergraduates in active research programs in Space Physics and Condensed
Matter/Biophysics. Augsburg College is committed to supporting faculty research.
The potential of candidates to complement existing research programs will be viewed
favorably, as will the ability to creatively integrate computational techniques
into
course work and undergraduate research. The department values the development of
distinctive courses focused on physics majors, the honors program, and general
education alike.

Consistent with the demographics of its physics majors, the department is a member
of the APS Bridge program. Candidates with experience and/or interest in working
with a diverse student population are especially encouraged to apply.
