Special Session in the 11th Space Weather Conference at the 94th annual Meeting of the AMS

Papers are solicited for a session on Extreme Space Weather. The papers should cover one or more aspects of Extreme Space Weather. Examples include the prediction of large solar flares; the measurement, analysis, and prediction of fast coronal mass ejections; the response of the magnetosphere to the impact of fast CMEs; the response of the neutral atmosphere and ionosphere to extreme solar activity; and the effect of extreme space weather on humans and technology. This topic follows the theme of the 94th Annual Meeting of the AMS,  “Extreme Weather – Climate and the Built Environment: New Perspectives, Opportunities, and Tools.”

The 94th annual Meeting of the AMS will be held February 2-6, 2014 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Preliminary programs, registration, hotel, and general information will be posted on the AMS Web site (http://www.ametsoc.org/meet/annual/) in late-September 2013.
Abstracts can be submitted at https://ams.confex.com/ams/94Annual/oasys.epl.

The deadline for submitting abstracts is August 1, 2013.
