Middle Atmosphere Vertical Coupling Dynamicist


The British Antarctic Survey (BAS), part of the Natural Environment Research Council, aims to undertake a world-class programme of scientific research, and to sustain for the UK an active and influential regional presence and a leadership role in Antarctic affairs.

We know require a Middle Atmosphere Vertical Coupling Dynamicist to manage and analyse observations of the role of mesospheric winds, waves and temperatures in the polar regions, to research the globally connecting dynamics between the lower, middle and upper atmosphere, and to help develop new lines of research within this remit thethrough acquisition of funding via grant proposals.

Qualifications: A good track record of published papers in peer review journals

PhD (or equivalent)

Duration: 3 year fixed term appointment

Salary: Salary will be in the range of £30,710 to £48,230 per annum. We offer a generous benefits package including a defined salary pension scheme, free car parking, flexible working hours and 30 days annual leave.
