[Wrf-users] UPP: Richardson number calculation

Hello,
Maybe someone in the wrf community can help me with some UPP related doubts.
I would like to produce using UPP the field  'Richardson number on model surface' for the first 5 levels of my model.
I added them to  wrf_cntrl.parm  file but the output for the first level is missing whereas levels 2,3,4 and 5 are there.
The "Richardson number on model surface  field", if I have understood properly, should be the gradient RI but it's not clear
for me if the RI for the level L it is calculated  using levels L and L+1 or L and L-1.
If the latter is the case maybe RI at level 1 (L=1) it's not created because level L-1 doesn't exist?
